NOTE: ''Saint Matthew and the Angel'' is an artwork by Caravaggio who is one of the representative of baroque art style. He is known by his realistic art pieces. We can also see his style in this specific artwork by him which depicted Saint Matthew and an angel. In 1602, Saint Matthew and the Angel was finished. It was transported to a flak tower for safety as part of the former Kaiser Friedrich Museum's collection, but it was destroyed by fire at the end of World War II while being kept in a Berlin anti-aircraft bunker. This piece, by a key figure in the Baroque movement, may have revealed hitherto undiscovered details about the patron and artist. There are still replicas of the original around. This piece was painted for the Catholic Church and painting for the Catholic Church, which had its own set of rigid visual criteria, was a distinct situation him since his artistic style and paintings for private clients were generally highly appreciated. After finishing the first two paintings, Caravaggio placed an order for The Inspiration of Saint Matthew because the original altarpiece painting was abandoned. **Torii Kiyonobu I was a notable Japanese ukiyo-e printmaker and painter known for his work on kabuki signboards and other related materials. He is credited with helping to found the Torii style of painting. He is credited with being one of the Torii school painting's founders.

Early in the 17th century, Edo was chosen as the location of the samurai government's seat of power. Due to the city's booming economy, the common people, particularly the merchants, were progressively becoming wealthy. As a result, many of them engaged in the pleasure districts' prostitutes, Geisha, and Kabuki performances. Ukiyo-e paintings were created in Edo City as a result of the outbreak of this unhealthy lifestyle.
